Let's start by introducing our first exciting exhibition collection: "Ancient Izmir on Glass" (Camda Antik İzmir).
Actually, it all started in 2015 when the couple Gülten & Melih decided to carry out their long-standing glass decoration and processing work within a corporate structure. The business they established continued in Istanbul under the brand GültenKK. The "gultenKK" domain name acquired in those years still continues its activities and, specifically, forms the infrastructure for the email traffic."
"And then:
Our workshop, which started its activities in 2017 under the name "Urkmez Women's Initiative Training Workshop" within the Seferihisar Municipality Urkmez Art Campus in the Urkmez village of Seferihisar, Izmir, was founded by the couple Gülten & Melih Kular and is still managed by them.
Initially attended by retired residents over the age of 55 for leisure, the workshop activities evolved into producing high-quality artistic works thanks to the motivation of Gülten & Melih Kular. In 2023, the collection consisting of 100 special pieces prepared under the name "Ancient Izmir on Glass" was exhibited for over a month at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, Izmir's most prestigious art center.
The work of the Urkmez Women's Initiative Workshop, previously focused solely on glass, has been enriched with ceramics. Furthermore, it is no longer referred to just as a "workshop" but as an "Esinhane" (House of Inspiration). Because the works produced and the future vision have become a source of inspiration for other workshops near and far, just as they are inspired by artistic works around the world. Since they inspire and are inspired, they deserved to be defined as an "Esinhane".
From the last quarter of 2024, they began to define themselves as the "Glass and Ceramic Esinhane". Still under the main umbrella of the Urkmez Women's Initiative, with the identity of Glass and Ceramic Esinhane, they completed the "Ancient Anatolia on Glass" collection in the first quarter of 2025. It was exhibited first at the Selçuk Municipality City Memory exhibition halls and then at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center in the same year.
EgeAura: Works created as a result of the Glass & Ceramic Esinhane activities under the main umbrella of the Urkmez Women's Initiative are meeting the art world under the brand name EgeAura starting from 2025.*
